Frequently asked questions

Learn how Nexus reports reserves, what each attestation includes, and how to verify your own balance. For broader platform protections, visit our security page or FAQ.

What are reserves?

Reserves are the digital assets a platform holds to back client balances. Nexus maintains full reserve coverage for client cryptocurrency holdings, meaning the platform holds at least as much as clients are owed across their accounts.

What is Proof of Reserves?

Proof of Reserves is an independent verification process that confirms a platform holds sufficient assets to cover all client balances. It gives investors a transparent way to validate that their holdings are fully backed.

Why does Proof of Reserves matter?

Proof of Reserves helps ensure Nexus can honor withdrawals and that client assets are not used for unrelated platform activity. It is a core part of building trust in how digital assets are custodied and reported.

How does Nexus Proof of Reserves work?

Each report has two parts: Proof of Assets and Proof of Liabilities. Assets represent Bitcoin and other digital assets Nexus controls in custody and on-chain wallets. Liabilities represent the cumulative balances owed to clients. A valid proof confirms that assets meet or exceed liabilities.

How do I know Nexus controls the reserves?

Nexus demonstrates wallet control through published custody attestations and on-chain verification steps tied to each reporting period. Cold storage addresses and transaction proofs are included so third parties can confirm ownership of reserve assets.

How can I verify my balance?

Log in to your account dashboard and open the Proof of Reserves verification flow. You can confirm that your balance is included in the published liability snapshot for the selected reporting period.

Why might my current balance differ from a verified balance?

A proof reflects balances at a specific point in time. Deposits, withdrawals, trades, and plan activity after that snapshot will not appear until the next published report.
